SWIFT

This project aims to enable and foster adoption of waste-based Black Soldier Fly (BSF) insect farming technologies for smallholder farmers and small and medium enterprises.


Harness Farms

A project working to improving dietary diversity, supporting gender equity, and developing fair agroecological markets for producers.


FARMS4Biodiversity

An ambitious project building on the work of FARM for Biodiversity, bringing together farmers, scientists, researchers and policymakers to study the impact of agroecological practices on landscapes, communities, and biodiversity in a changing climate.


FARM for Biodiversity (finished 2018)

Promoting farmer-led research in biodiversity by training farmers to observe wildlife and evaluate the impact of agroecology on landscapes.


Participatory Integrated Curriculum

Bringing together an interdisciplinary team to create accessible, equitable training materials.


Farmer Research and Training Center

Building a home for all of SFHC’s future activities, and providing space for training, experimentation, demonstration and knowledge transfer.


MAFFA Project (Finished in 2017)

Studying the impact of agroecological farming methods on food security, nutrition, soils and communities.


Carasso Project (Finished in 2020)

Building sustainable and equitable food systems using participatory communication and agroecology in Malawi.


Farmer-led Research in Malawi Deepening Knowledge of Impact (finished 2020)

Connecting Cornell students with SFHC to understand the impact of their experiences.


InnovAfrica (finished 2021)

Improving food and nutrition security by integrating sustainable agriculture intensification systems (SAI), innovative institutional approaches with novel extension and advisory services and enhancing smallholder adaptive capacity in Sub-Saharan Africa.


Farmer Training to Expand Food and Nutrition Security — Biovision Project

Using funding from the Biovision and Eurofins Foundations to train 2500 farmers in agroecological methods for increased food and nutrition security.
